So if you read the previous posting I was beginning to have complications with the pregnancy. All the tests pointed towards preeclampsia. The doctor asked me to go to the hospital for monitoring and "boy" did I come out with more than I went in with. I was at high risk for lots of other things if they didn't induce. SOOO.... Jason and I brought in the new year with a quiet night at home and packed for the hospital because we weren't sure what they were going to do. At 8 am Friday January 1, 2010 we went to the hospital to find out that I wasn't going to leave without a baby. I was induced that day and approximately 12 hours and NO EPIDURAL later Jaxon was born January 2, 2010 at 3:44am weighing in at 6 lb 11 oz, 20 in long and the most proud parents you can imagine. 3 weeks early but still as healthy as can be!!! Enjoy our precious pictures!

Worst blogger ever!!!

So it has been a couple months since the last posting which may make me the worst blogger ever. We have been soooooo busy with thanksgiving, christmas, and showers for Jaxon. It is such an exciting time. I am 37 weeks pregnant today and things have been going great. I had a little scare at the doctor today though. My blood pressure is higher than normal so they put Jaxon on a monitor and we did a sono to make sure he was doing ok. The doctor said if he did not respond well to the contractions I was having then they would induce today. Luckily he did great (thank you GOD) BUT, they are still concerned about my BP so I am doing a couple tests that will let them know if I am preeclampsic. I asked what the treatment was for preeclampsia and the doctor said delivery. I DO NOT want to be induced so please pray that all these tests come back normal and Jaxon can come when he is good and ready. Jason starts the fire academy in February and he is loving volunteering for Buda Fire department. He and I have both worked very hard to get the house ready for our big boy which is one reason that these postings have gone by the way side. You can see a couple pics below of early morning swollen feet which is nothing compared to the end of the day, my big belly and some shots of Jaxons nursery. I hope this posting finds everyone well as we move into the new year!!!

LOTS TO UPDATE!!!

I hope the time change and extra hour of sleep this weekend has everyone in good spirits. Well, there is lots to say this time around. First, my father was admitted to the hospital on Friday after being diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism. This is a blockage of the main artery of the lung or one of its branches by a blood clot that has travelled from elsewhere in the body through the bloodstream. Basically, he travels all the time for his job and being in one position for too long can create blood clots. He has a blood clot in his leg that broke away, traveled up through his heart and to his lungs. He is in good spirits and doing very well. The doctors are giving shots of blood thinner to help with the clotting and he should hopefully be out of the hospital in the next couple days. Please keep him and my family in your prayers. Praise God they found it before any major harm was done. We spent the weekend in Corpus visiting my dad and family. My aunt was recently diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy. She is doing great and keeping up with her hilarious sense of humor. She has lots of healing and treatment ahead so please keep her in your prayers as well.
On a lighter note we finally got to see one of Riley's (my neice) soccer games. She did great and she was so cute. Here is a great video I just happened to catch as she scored a goal.

We were also able to go trick or treating with Riley. She was the sweetest little light up pumpkin I've ever seen. Here she is visiting Pops in the hospital showing off her costume.

Also, we started the nursery for Jaxon last weekend. We painted his walls a light grey and we are going to highlight the walls with splashes of color and pictures. I have a vision and I think it is really going to come out perfect. Very different than a normal nursery but Jaxon is a hip kid. I mean look who his mom is. HEHE! Here are some pictures showing the labor of love.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST: Here is an updated belly picture. We are now a little over 7 months along now. We go to the doctor this thursday.

Jaxon in 4D!!!

Here are some pics of Jaxon from our 4D sonogram. It is soooo surreal to see him. I can't believe how amazing it is to see a human life that is inside of you. Kind of freaky but by far the coolest thing I have ever experienced. He cooperated for the most part but he had his stubborn moments. We know for sure that he is a BOY!

So...Buda fire fest was this weekend and it turned out to be more like a mud fest. It started raining saturday morning during the fire fighter physical challenge and it didn't seem to let up all day. Despite the weather creating wet and difficult conditions, Jason competed and did a really wonderful job. I was so proud of him. Here are a few pictures and a video of his awesome challenge. He finished in 1 min 47 sec.
